The South African Olympic and double world champion - who spent two seasons on the sidelines before returning to the track in February - is set to continue his comeback by taking part in the 100 and 400 metres.

It will be the first time the 28-year old - who has been speaking of his desire to set an "untouchable" world record - has run outside his home nation since London 2017.

English language coverage of the meet at the Stadio Giuseppe Grezar in Trieste will be live on RunnerSpace from 1245 to 1405 EST with the action available on runjumpthrow.com in order parts of the world.

An exceptional field for the women's 800 metres sees European champion Laura Muir face training partner Jemma Reekie, who improved on her personal best by three-and-a-half seconds in February to set a British indoor record of 1m57.91s. The Scottish pair will be up against double European indoor champion Selina Buchel and 1m58 runner Renelle Lamote.

In the sprint hurdles, world heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson faces two Italians  at 12.76s and 12.80s, while fellow Brit Andy Pozzi is joined by multiple African champion Antonio Alkana. These two look to be closely matched with both having run 13.30s this season.

Other field athletes to watch include Olympic pole vault champion Thiago Braz, South African long jumper Rushwaal Samaai, and Italian high jump duo Elena Vallortigara and Alessia Trost.

Last but not least, there is an interesting men's 400m including 45s runners Samuel Garcia and Edoardo Scotti, who are up against Brits Jake Wightman and Ben Snaith.

A full set of start lists can be found here, with a schedule (in local time) available on this page.
